I don't always agree with Ann Coulter, but she's really on today and quite funny. Regarding Bill Burkett's response to questioning:
According to USA Today, an interview with Burkett ended when he "suffered a violent seizure and collapsed in his chair" – an exit strategy Dan Rather has been eyeing hungrily all week, I'm sure.
"I don't always agree with Ann Couter"...
I don't really think you need to qualify these things. Just because you like a particular piece of analysis or commentary doesn't make you a sycophant, no matter what some people say. It's like "I don't agree with everything Rush Limbaugh says, but..."
I don't agree with *anybody* 100% of the time. The best I can manage probably 80-90%. Everyone's wrong about *something*. And even the most demented, feeble minded among us are usually right about something--even if the reasons are logic that got them there was bad.

Posted by: David Wilson at September 23, 2004 06:29 PMI understand what you're saying, James, and you're probably right. I've read both of Ann's books and in some parts she fell down on the job in presenting a logical argument. I guess I personally feel she's a little questionable, and I felt compelled to add the disclaimer.
But I like how she makes boys cry. ;)
I like how she pointed out that this is Round Two for the Swifties. This is their chance to not let the same thing happen to my generation that happened to theirs.
Posted by: ArklahomBoy at September 23, 2004 10:28 PMAs I read her articles (I never think of it on my own. I always find them linked here), I notice she prefers the punch-line to the logic. So they're funny and cutting, but they aren't exactly Aristotelian in their logic.
On the other hand, they're readable. People complain about the popular Right, like Rush. Fine--but I don't know anyone who really enjoyed watching Bill Buckley. I'm guessing Ann probably pulls a lot more readers than the National Review.
