Michael Stipe continues to be the most attractive man in the American music industry.
Bruce Springsteen continues to pretend he's the working-class hero his father actually was

To me that looks like a dream sequence from a Wild Wild West episode with Dr. Lovelace.
Posted by: James at October 11, 2004 11:40 AMMakes me sick. Some of my favorite musicians are mixed up in this (rock the vote) mess. I blame it on the drugs.

Posted by: Donnah at October 11, 2004 01:23 PMI personally think they all suck. None of them ever did anything remarkable...what was all the hype about "Born in the USA" about, anyway? Did anyone ever read those lyrics? Pearl Jam had a chance to stay on as the only surviving act of the original Grunge era, but then they had to go and alienate everyone who doesn't get off on Eddie Vedder whining about abortion non-stop.
I think I was born about 30 years too late. Yeah I know Skynyrd had some nice things to say about Carter, but that's probably just cause they weren't around to see how his term actually panned out. It sure wasn't as bad back then as it's gotten now.

Posted by: xire138 at October 11, 2004 06:49 PMWhile it must be hard to maintain your perspective when everybody's kissing your ass, they really should give it a shot.

Malkovich, Malkovich, Malkovich, Malkovich, Malkovich,Malkovich,Malkovich, Malkovich, Malkovich,Malkovich,Malkovich,Malkovich,Malkovich...
Except, Malkovich is way cooler than that dope Stipe. In fact he earned my eternal respect when he threatened to kill Saddam's good buddyGeorgous George Galloway.
That restaurant scene is my favorite part of the movie.
My question would be, why doesn't Springsteen just cut to the chase and run for president himself?
Posted by: xire138 at October 12, 2004 02:24 PMHe's a sensitive artist. Having to compete in the rough and tumble world of politics might make him go all Muskie.
