I don't see "supper" used enough. As a kid (5 or 6 years old), I used to get into big fights with the other kids over whether the last meal of the day was supper or dinner. It was always supper in our house. Dinner was formal mid-afternoon meals, usually holidays or special occasions, but sometimes Sunday after church if we were feeling fancy (which was rare).

That's the same definition for us. The big meal in-between Sunday services was dinner. Holiday meals, always served in the afternoon, were dinner. The last meal of the day is supper.

" She said this belief led her brother to castrate himself in his death-row cell to control sexual urges."

How the hell did he get to do that? Hope that wasn't what they served him on a bun. :)
