Seven games to go. Mock him at your peril

Blogging about the Red Sox at 12:46 am?
Who is better than you FloridaC?
Nobody.
Posted by: sonofnixon at October 21, 2004 12:57 AMI can't believe that you lived down the street from Gator Greenwell.
Nothing beats the time he "secretly" (caught on videotape, unfortunately) raced cars on a track and denied doing it. A very solid player though.
Posted by: sonofnixon at October 21, 2004 12:59 AMLOL. Great game! It's always a joy to watch the Yankees lose.
Posted by: Donnah at October 21, 2004 01:00 AMYep. Three houses down. His family still lives there. Wonder why he didn't move his mama to a nicer neighborhood? Maybe the folks didn't want to go.
Mike still lives in North Fort Myers too, although in a nicer house than what he grew up in. He owns a baseball park business there in town.
I was sitting in Kenmore Square (where Fenway Pahk is) around 11 am and it was relatively quiet.
Watching the local news, it appears that a few thousand maniacs are running wild in the streets now.
Who said I didn't have impecable timing?
(A little sad that half of these "kids" (if your under 21...your a kid) don't know what anguish/frustration/Red Sox fandom is about)
Hopefully they won't have to learn this year. I'll spin them a yarn later.
Posted by: sonofnixon at October 21, 2004 01:09 AMBut isn't this part of it? You've won pennants since 1918. Aren't you afraid he's just lulling you into false hope to make it sweeter for him when he crushes your hearts under his cleats yet again?
Just asking.
Bitch.
JUST KIDDING!! haha
No. This year feels different. Other Sox teams in my lifetime have been 'good enough to get there', but this is a pretty well built team --- exhaustion and injuries, notwithstanding.
The others had a punchers/hitters chance. This one is better than 50/50...which is about what you can hope for in baseball at this stage of the season.
Posted by: sonofnixon at October 21, 2004 01:18 AMWell, good luck to you.
I have to admit though, I've always wanted the Sox and the Cubs to play against each other in the Series, just to see if the Sun would explode during Game 7.
Getting to watch Gore's mellon blow-up when W wins on November 2 will be just as good.
Posted by: sonofnixon at October 21, 2004 01:24 AMI don't have to work until 1 pm tomm.
What's your excuse for being up so late?
Posted by: sonofnixon at October 21, 2004 01:26 AMI wanted to see the game. I'm paying for it now at work.
Posted by: Donnah at October 21, 2004 09:16 AMOne nice thing about being on the left coast--the extra inning games still end at a reasonable hour.
The bad part is the regular games end early. The last couple nights they were over by the time I got home from class.
