Ignorance

The Sydney Morning Herald took an interesting article about Southern heritage and attached a nasty title and cartoon to it. We're bad people who vote wrong, and the editors wanted to make sure everyone understood that, since the writer wasn't emphatic enough about it.

Go raise a yell at the editor. I sure did.

Sent off my tirade, too. This, coming from a nation founded from a penal colony. Pot. Kettle.

I'd send off a rant, but I suspect the editor who allowed that to go through is one of the more virulent anti-Yank crowd, and their minds are already closed. But I applaud your efforts nonetheless.

If voting for Dubya means I'm trailer trash...well, then, I reckon I'll just mosey on over to the precinct on Tuesday and get my invitation to the White Trash Debutante's Ball.

Yee-f#@%ing-haw!

Totally off topic -- sorry --
November 29th, 1971, in Rock and Roll History.
I heard this 'urban legend' this morning on the radio -- WOAI, AM, San Antonio.
It's untrue -- poor dj needs to study up on Duane and the Allmans.
Here are the facts . . .

Nah, no peach truck, no watermelon truck. Just a regular truck with a boom-thing hanging off of it. It slowed for a pothole, Duane swerved around it, hit the boom, got thrown off the bike, then got crushed by the bike. He drove reckless and it got him.
No fruit were involved.

I'm sorry - I indicated Duane's accident was in November of 1971 - I think it was actually October of '71.

Actually, today is the anniversary of his death. That's why it's "Today in Rock History".

There's a Duane pic every week for Duane comments.
