Duane all dressed up in snaps
Wail on, Skydog!
Great pic! Looks like he may have borrowed some of Dickey's threads.

Posted by: Carl in Atlanta at November 24, 2004 02:48 PMI know just about all of Duane's clothes and this is a new shirt he's got on. I've only seen it in the Chapel Hill series.
Posted by: Donnah at November 24, 2004 03:38 PM"Chapel Hill 5 71" has to be Jubilee Weekend held in May 1971. I don't know whether they still have Jubilee at UNC, but "in the day" it was very, very nice; like a small, very upscale pop festival. I'd guesstimate maybe 45,000- 50,000 people in one place, open air temporary stage on a big practice field right on campus, great acts including the ABB, and Chapel Hill itself is really beautiful-- great old buildings, very "collegiate", with lots of old trees and forest, great topography and lots of very psychedelic settings like, oh, how about an empty Greek amphitheater at 2:00 am that appears out of nowhere as you walk down a dark, wooded path, or a real gothic Castle in a similar setting, owned by a secret society called "Gim-ghoul"? Strange days indeed, but glad I was there (at least I think I was there!).
Posted by: Carl in Atlanta at November 24, 2004 07:47 PMDid you see this concert at Chapel Hill, Carl?
I have a really big photo of this pic that I'm currently using as my screensaver. Lots of times I have to shrink the pics to make them fit neatly here.
Posted by: Donnah at November 24, 2004 08:37 PMDonnah-- I think so. Definitely so if this was the same year that J Geils played at Jubilee. I'm afraid I killed a few brain cells that weekend, that, plus there was some love-interest consuming a good bit of my attention at the time....
Posted by: Carl in Atlanta at November 25, 2004 04:19 PMCarl, you always make me so darn jealous.
My brother saw him once in concert. All he can remember is being there and being stoned. Geez.
