FEMA Fraud

The Fort Myers News-Press, the Pensacola News Journal, the Sun-Sentinel, and other Florida newspapers are suing FEMA for access to hurricane aid records.
I doubt that the people who commited fraud in Miami-Dade had enough wattage to think that perhaps other people in Florida would notice their actions, but the FEMA representatives there who helped perpetrate this nonsense should certainly have known better.

Heh, I hope they find enough evidence to send a few frauds to the Fedco slammer, and I'm not talking about the ditz's that filed for the claims either.

The people that have been arrested so far are all pretty pathetic. They are corrupt, to be sure, but it's new appliances in some squalid little apartment. Those workers who signed off on the claims, however, and the supervisors who covered for them, all the way to the top, they are the ones I'm most interested in as well. Millions spent in Miami-Dade for recovery from a hurricane that came no where near the place.

There's alot of pissed off people FEMA and insurance-wise in this neck of the woods (Citizen's is another huge sh*tball). The development isn't looking like the Smurf village so much anymore, tho. We've still got a lovely blue roof and averaging one person a day, knocking on the front door, upsetting the dogs and offering an estimate.
