Worst Neighbor Ever

Be careful about getting into feuds with your neighbors. One of them might be able to have you involuntarily commited:

A Longboat Key psychologist has been sentenced to ten weekends in jail for lying on forms to involuntarily commit a griping neighbor who later died.

Holli Bodner had a yearlong feud with Jean Pierre Villar about street lights and dog poop before committing him to a mental health center in April 2003.

Hopefully, she'll have her license revoked as well.
If I could Baker Act all the people I felt needed it, half of Broward County would be basket weaving.

UPDATE:
Bill of INDC Journal wonders at the non-mention of my home county, Lee, in terms of citizens needing involuntary commitment. In fact, we do our part there to keep the Baker Act flag flying high, allowing me to be able to inform you from personal knowledge that in Lee County, one does not weave baskets, but instead crafts baskets made of paper.

Gadzookies, you mean I can have my neighbor committed in Florida. For not keeping his yard maintained? For letting his dog poop on my lawn? For shooting crows that were pooping in his pool spa with a BB gun?

I feel empowered.

On the other hand maybe my late night parties, naked women running around my pool, and wine bottles piling up in my back yard might tick my neighbors off.

Well a nice state paid vacation with daily doses of valium might not be too bad, especially here in wonderful sunny Florida.

Being new to Florida, its always good to know the local customs of relationship warfare.
For instance, living in Houston, it's common knowledge there that the proper way for a wife to punish her husband for cheating is to park a car on his head. Back when we had the "Warren Moon" laws, shouting loud enough in a fight with your significant other that the neighbors called the cops guaranteed someone was doing a night in jail.
Baker Acting neighbors. I'll have to remember that. BTW, is PEST actionable under the Baker Act? Being here in Leon County, I have a couple of moonbat neighbors I could do without.

While it's all a grand joke, if the man had not held to his guns and fought back no one would have heard about the story. One could wonder how often a professional uses their pull to do away with problems in thier personal life.

I'm interested in finding out how he got out of this mess and whether or not he gave this woman a punch in the nose upon release.

It's always so amazing to me that usually people act so civilized after some grievous affront like this. My family most often opts for giving the offender's skull a good crack and then going to court for it.
