Read this book if you'd like to understand why the more someone presents a blog to me as "A-list", the less inclined I am to ever go there.
Or ask John Kerry what he gleaned about Southern culture during our recent election.
Posted by floridacracker at April 18, 2005 09:34 PMHa, I completely agree with you, Florida Cracker...those lists (as do similar projects in the past) appear like mutual petting societies.
The greater the occurence of a site name, the least likely I am to visit or keep a blogroll link to them.
And what IS the problem with including Glen Reynolds/Instapundit among these ongoing "rightwing/conservative" bloggers?
He's a Democrat.
Perhaps the point there is that there are many "conservatives" among Democrats, and I'm betting Howard Dean and Hillary Clinton are really, really hoping that the meme sticks.
It was the snootiest intro I've come across in quite a while.
I don't have a problem with the blogs, although there are only a couple of them that I link to, and some of them I've never even heard of.It was that snotty-ass intro that ticked me off.
"...those lists [sic] appear like mutual petting societies."
exactly.
but the thing that irks me the most about these uber-bloggers is that they are the same ones who think their high volume traffic and trackback stats entitle them to have the authority to consider devising "blogger ethics" to impose on the rest of us in the blogosphere.
that was several months ago and i'm glad that kind of talk appears to have died down... for now.
