Today it was announced that a respected Shi'ite official, Ibrahim Bahr al-Uloum, has been named Iraqi oil minister.
Upon hearing the news, Lady Tee-Hee, New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd crumpled to the ground shouting, "God, no!" and wailed the name "Chalabi" over and over again.
Ahmad Chalabi is a frequent subject of Dowd's columns. Her outrage at his being acting oil minister had been the topic of a recent Dowd column, and confident he had a lock on the job, she'd readied at least 27 more outraged columns on the same topic for future publication.
