Wednesday's Duane Allman Pic

Duane doesn't realize there's a chipmunk right in back of him.
Wail on, Skydog!

UPDATE:
Suzy got out a can of "Gregg Be Gone" for me. Thanks, Suzy!

UPDATE II:
With the skill of a Stalin-era photographer, Carl makes Gregg vanish. Thanks, Carl!

Chimpmunk's wearing A FRINGE SHIRT, ha!

Donnah: Great shot for a portrait (if you cropped out the kid brother). I particulary like the halo...

I can only crop in a straight line and this thing needs baby brother airbrushed out. Him and his fringe shirt.

Ok, I gave in and picked up the Allman Brothers greatest hits the other day, largely due to your incessant propagandizing and cracker teen idol worship. Love it.

"Melissa" is a gorgeous song.

Incidentally, I had no idea that the theme from Charlie Brown was called "Jessica." I'd think that it would be called "Lucy," or "Little Brown-Haired Girl" or something.

Isn't it really pretty, though? Both the lyrics and the music. Gregg was waiting in line in a grocery store and heard a mom correcting her little daughter about ten times: Melissa.
I bust on him for being a general failure as a human being, because he is; but he is a gifted songwriter and singer.

You teasing about Charlie Brown? Vince Guaraldi's theme from Charlie Brown is called "The Theme from Charlie Brown." The Allman Brothers song "Jessica" by Dickie Betts is about his daughter. He wrote it while watching her crawl around. They both have a staccato-sounding piano.
"Jessica" is very prominently playing in the bar scene in "The Exorcist," btw.

I'm glad you like the record. It's funny what music stands the test of time and what doesn't. For all their faults in their personal lives, the ABB are top-drawer musicians.

Donnah...I hope you know I was just, well, "yanking yer' chain."

I'll do a photochop for you of the Duane Halo image, O.K.?

Peace, and, fringeoff.

I'm glad to read that Bill's discovered Duane and the Band...

Bill: go buy "THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND"
and,
"THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND AT FILLMORE EAST."

You won't be disappointed, I promise.

I'm not mad at you about the fringe, Suzie! LOL.
That really would be a lovely pic of Duane without the sullen chipmunk in it, though.

go buy "THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND"
and,
"THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND AT FILLMORE EAST."

Will do.

That's what struck me about the music (though I knew many of the songs obliquely from radio), it stands up. Some of it is brilliant, and some of the arrangements seem pretty layered, complex.

Jessica is a good song, but I can't help but think of snoopy doing a dance while I listen to it.

Donnah: one of my larger files sizes displays better...just a suggestion.

You're more than welcome-- don't even have to thank me, pleasure was mine...

I put up the first one on the list, I think. Thanks for doing it.

If we're not careful, the next thing we know we'll be FARKing Duane's pic. I can think of things that could go where Gregg's mug was.
