Cooking With Gas

If you gotta come home to a crime, the most you can hope for is that it's a funny one:

A couple, who lives in the upscale New Floresta [Boca Raton] neighborhood, returned home from a vacation and found a man dead on his hands and knees with his head stuck in their barbeque grill.

I'd have liked to hear that domestic conversation.

Ever come home from a real long vacation and something about the house seems "different" than you remember it? Like the living room seems smaller or something? Well that story's sort of like that feeling, only not really.

I couldn't help it, this story made me burst out laughing.
Strangely enough, both my dad and my brother have found dead girls floating in the Gulf. That's nasty. But this...I think there was more puzzlement than anything.

Something being different after a while away from home: When I got home from Desert Storm, Mr. Cracker hit the buzzer thing to let me in the building, then opened the apartment door to let the dogs run down to greet me. Those dogs on the stairs were so white they were freakishly white. Blindingly white. It was so surprising. The perception faded quickly though, and they went back to looking like their normal selves.

Should have kept him as a bike rack.
