How's Lilly?

Lilly's fine. Mr. Cracker was remarking that she has the sweatiest armpits of any dog he's ever known. Don't know why that is.

(1.) you (and Lily with you) live in a warmer than usual climate and (2.) Lily is exerting herself with her front two limbs moreso than an able-bodied dog (or anyone else). Thus, I'm sure she exerts greater muscle activity in her chest and front limbs.

I always was taught that dogs, however, don't "sweat" from their skin, and use the panting method to expend excess body heat. In which case, maybe Lily is licking her forearm underarm area to try to cool herself off a bit more than other dogs who aren't having to rely on their front limbs quite as much as Lily has to.

No, dogs don't cool themselves through sweating- but they do have a temperature and moisture to their skin. Lillydog definitely has hot, moist armpits.
You're right, it's probably from the extra use of those front legs.
