Remember the movie "Short Circuit"? There was a middle eastern man in there that got two of these phrases mixed up. He said, "easy as cake", and "piece of pie." I was pretty young, and thought that cheesy pun was funny.

A crowbar is where crows get hammered. Later they get flung in the murky gutter of the bayou by Vlad the Impaler.

Some of my ESL students have a tenous grasp on English. Tonight I pried up a finger.

I like the Asian driver character in "Better Off Dead" who learned to speak English by watching Howard Cosell.

I'm still stuck on "baking the cookies of discontent by the laundromat of the soul..."

Credit to SLING BLADE by Billy Bob Thornton.

Speaking of, I'd like to add "billy bob" to the list o' words. And the word, "Durango."

Forgot...my additions are reserved for whenever you get to the "fantasy" portion of ESL.
