Wednesday's Duane Allman Pic

Duane's fringed-leather, mystery-jammer is back, and this time Berry's with him.
Wail on, Skydog!

Glad your family's OK, bubba.

I was contemplating which is worse: the poofy hair or the fringed leather. Hmmm. It's a toughy.

Oh, man, did I look cheesy..."

Although this has nothing to do at all to do w/ this photo, I was fortunate enough to catch ''The Language of Music'', an awesome documentary on the life of long-time Allman's producer Tom Dowd, this afternoon on the Sundance Channel. The great things he, as well as Eric Clapton, had to say about Duane were truly heartwarming. There's also a segment were he isolates every track from the song ''Layla''. During this segment, even the most layman of music fans will realize that Allman was the true star of this legendary song (and album, it can be argued), with Dowd marvelling at how Duane plays ''notes that don't even exist'' (I'm paraphrasing here, but he says says something like that). It's a highly recommended documentary, not just for Duane, as Tom Dowd was indeed the man, who recorded countless musical luminaries and revolutionized the industry with his brilliant, groundbreaking recording techniques.
