Posted by floridacracker at September 14, 2005 09:03 PMI expect better from all of our appointed officials. I am disgusted that cronyism is par for the course in Washington- and that corruption has ruined and will continue to ruin people's lives in New Orleans and elsewhere. So many people died horrible deaths these past few weeks. I was flabbergasted that helpless people in nursing homes watched, immobile, as water rose around their beds. This is horrifying. What can we do to avert this in the future?
The article suggests people learn from disaster. I think our local and federal officials have known exactly what to expect and specifically knew what needed to be done to avert disaster in New Orleans, and the other affected states, including emergency action plans for those states receiving "refugees", for a long time now. Isn't that despicable? IMO I'm wondering how the underside of human nature will affect us all in the future. And I want something done about it today.
Chris, you really don't understand do you?
What exactly are your suggestions for corrective action?
I would be critical, however, I guess that's what blog comments are for...shooting your mouth off about thihngs you know nothing about.
Posted by: greg at September 16, 2005 09:18 AMI suggest kicking cronies out of office. If that's shooting my mouth off, I'm happy I did it.
Posted by: Chris at September 16, 2005 11:22 AMOh, that narrows it right down...you really do have an in-depth understanding of the situation.
Posted by: greg at September 16, 2005 12:57 PMSave the sarcasm, Greg and find something else to do with your anger. Donna's post didn't ask for suggestions on how to solve any problems. It linked to an article. I commented on the article. You really need something better to do with your time.
