PB...almost everyone back in 1968-70 who was under twenty-five "looked like a dirty beatnick" by today's standards.

I'm thinking today's Wednesday Duane pix (big orange poster) is Duane not using a conditioner, photographed outside a humid climate. "Big hair" was possible because that's just what long hair did in certain locales. In Florida, I know from many years of experience, long hair never dried/dries even with a blow dryer. I bet big orange Duane photo wasn't taken in Forida -- and the second one (b&w) was taken in Muscle Shoals or Georgia: more humid climates.

I think he's got a PERM. Hee. I'm not fussing, I think it looks nice. But you don't go from having scraggly hair (documented in hundreds of pics) to having full, poufy hair without a little help from the hairdresser.
