Have you noticed that they don't (or can't?)tie-die like they used to? Maybe it's a lost art - - like medieval stained glass...

I suspect they print the pattern now rather than actually tie the fabric and individually dye it. I tie-dyed a couple of shirts back in the day - a lot more diffucult than I had suspected.

We used to go down and buy our Ritz dye, then come home and tie-dye in a washtub in the backyard. We were too lazy and unartistic to do more than one color. My sister did try two colors once and the blend looked like vomit. Our one-color ones didn't look so hot, either.

Are you talkin' about the wallpaper? I don't think that's a Motel 6 .... the shower/toilet is probably down the hall, next to the payphone.

Well, you know, at one time it was one room for the whole gang. I read that when the money started coming in, that bandmembers started wanting their own rooms. Willie's solution was "economy with dignity," which was two guys to a room. Both those beds have been slept in, so.

Donnah, have you read the Perkins book? Is it worth picking up? How would you compare it to Freeman's, which I've read.

I'd say it's not as interesting as Freeman's, but a million times better than Red Dog's.
Randy Poe's biography on Duane is set to come out next year. I'll be very anxious to get my hands on that, while at the same time hoping it won't be fawning Messianic BS. I read exchanges on John Wyker's site where he was clearly trying to get it across to Poe that in his personal life, Duane could be a real bastard.
