The Hall Of Fame, At Last

Congrats to Skynryd to getting into the Hall of Fame. I don't hold the place in any high esteem, but I know some do. If it makes the Van Zants happy, then I'm pleased. The family's remained ever gracious to Skynyrd fans; God knows why. Their pulling Ronnie's casket out of his vault would have been the last straw for me.

Well, that sure brings a tear to the eyes. They were one helluva group, to say the least.

Yeah, congratulations to an awarding so long overdue, well, I am just nearly wordless that it's taken so long to get them into the HoF. But, better late than never.

About the crypt, I thought it was unnamed vandals who opened the crypt. The family relocated him afterward, for good reasons, but left the crypt as is for memorial purposes. Yes? At least, that's the way I read things.

About the infamous Alison Krause dress (another issue but I think the original thread w/discussion is now closed, so thought I'd just mention this here)...I just saw another photo of Krause from "backstage" with very normal, in-room lighting (see this page, left-hand side picture...http://www.oanmedia.com/2005/11/country_music_meets_pushy_new.php) and again say that there's no way Krause could not be ~aware~ that she was wearing transparency mere inches below her privates. Photographed in even normal, room lighting, the dress is obviously still transparent...ANYone with ANY shred of stage familiarity (much less Krause who has been on them for most of her life) would be fully aware that combined with stage, targeted keylighting, what is transparent in normal conditions would be visually non-existent to any audience.

There's just no way Krause was not aware she was draped in a fully-thigh revealing "dress"...take a look at this non-stage photo to see what she looked like to herself in any mirror, to her friends and managers, to the press, etc.

Two drunken guys vandalized Van Zant's crypt, left a rather large chunk chipped away from a top corner and the lid edge...and Van Zant's remains were relocated because of that to a family-private area (a very good idea). From what I read about the vandals, they 'wanted to know if Van Zant was buried wearing his Neil Young tee shirt' (same one he wore onstage, of controversy given the "Sweet Home Alabama" lyrics and that Van Zant said he was, in fact, a fan of Young, despite the misinterpretation of the lyrics...and while I respect Van Zant, I think Neil Young will never measure up to Skynyrd, and that Van Zant was sadly caught up in the negativity that surround Young, to Van Zant's disadvantage).

...that surrounds Young...

They pulled his casket out onto the ground, Suzie. Who would want to know if Ronnie was wearing his Neil Young shirt, if not fans?
Fans tried to dig Duane up. It was at that point that Candace Oakley put a fence around their graves. Which the authorities pulled down.

Back on Alison's dress, are we? LOL. For a gal who had her first record deal at 14, I'd say, yeah, she's had lots of stage experience. And yes, indeed, that dress looks pretty sheer even in regular light. I don't know what to say.

Me, I just realized last week that the background music for the new Kentucky Fried Chicken commercial is "Sweet Home, Alabama."

Mmm-hmm. Not as bad as Red Lobster's "Lobsters Everywhere" atrocity. Dickie must have needed some dough.

Right, Donnah, "fans" but still also two drunk guys. Two drunk guys who were fans. The way-down side of fame, no doubt about it.

I have a confession to make. I am responsible for Skynryd crashing. When the 'Street Survivors' Album came out, St. Louis radio was playing the thing so much, that I was going crazy. I was writing a letter to a friend of mine and made the off hand comment in the letter, that I wished "these guys would disappear" as their record was getting way too much air play. About an hour after I had written this in the letter came the announcement on 'KSHE'- FM that word of a plane crash involving the band had just been recieved. We all know the rest. So don't make me mad or who knows who is next!!!!!!!!!

Though I don't really feel I had anything to do with it. I still feel as if there could be .....
something to my powers. "Yeah, Right."

So now we know.
You can atone for that action by disappearing Madonna.

I doubt that I could be forced to listen to Madonna enough to bring my powers to a fever pitch
