Some Things Aren't Meant To Be Tampered With

This Viking helmet store has disclaimers up all over the place about horns on the helmet not being "historically accurate."

I'd like to know who in their right mind would buy a Viking helmet without the horns?

That's just nuts.

There's cooler stuff than horns you can have on your helmet. Eagle wings, for one. Track down the Russian propaganda film from the '30s, "Alexander Nevsky" and check out the helmets of the evil Teutonic Knights.

I've looked forever on the 'net for an old pic I saw of some tribe-istan in Russia that had a fur helmet with a tiny skull nested in it. Very cool.

Check this post for the spinning helmet of the damned. It's got an eagle on it.
