Good Dogs, Bad Situation

You folks in Atlanta, Fulton County Animal Services has some dogs, including three German shepherds (Passion, Rainbow, and #A365994), that need families and a household to put in order.
You need a shepherd. You really, really do.

Yeah, the names should be a bit sportier. An attractive name is a positive factor in adoption, I'm sure. That's why they don't name them things like "Skinny Brown Dog," etc.

I live in the NW Florida Panhandle, and I've been seeking a "rescue" type, young, female, of any of the shepherd types; German, Belgian, tervueron, Malinois, even the western stock dogs. Must be young, must be female, and must be of Shepherd type. Mine is 10 1/2 years old, and would love to train a pup to take over for her. Don't even know where to look up here. How old are Fulton County dogs? Do they need someone with a loving home, or someone with a fat wallet? Had to pass on 2 different Katrina Dogs- had the loving home, didn't have the fat wallet to kick back a $500 fee to save a dog. Even $650 for one of 'em. Guess they're better off in a concrete and steel cage than on my 40 acre farm where dogs live better than humans. And that is because they act better than most humans. I'm jaded, knowing that it takes money for these agencies to run themselves, but it also takes money for them to feed and care for a dog that I could be feeding and caring for. I believe in providence, and if a dog and I are meant to hook up, it will happen. Did it 10 years ago, and we've both loved every bit of it. Neither she nor I knew that we would get to do an Animal Planet thing, or any of the thousand other things we've done.
Just bothers me to see a dog as purposeful as a Shepherd get the abuse they get.
