From the Hourglass days: the Allman boys in matching shirts. Adorable!
Wail on, Skydog!
Also: more of Duane's clothes being sold on Ebay. The roadie who sold Duane's guitar strap a few years back is the Santa who gifted some chick with the jacket she's currently selling.
I don't think the daughter got a thing.
boy, midnight snack paid off well..!
Those shades (Petty Polaroids) were pretty popular
back then..
Thanks Donnah..!
Posted by: Owen Crosby at March 22, 2006 12:32 AMApparently it wasn't the only time they dressed alike: In the 9/70 Fillmore video that's in circulation, they also appear to be wearing the same tie dye shirts. My mother used to dress me and my brother alike when we were little kids. We got made fun of pretty much every day at school. Good times!!
Posted by: YO at March 22, 2006 01:09 AMBut aren't tie-dyes unique, like rainbow-vomit snowflakes? ;)
Posted by: Donnah at March 22, 2006 01:32 AMlol. Good point
Posted by: YO at March 22, 2006 01:33 AMI have the image stills in my head, and went to find Gregg's, but after going through a couple of pages of his pics, I decided it was too yucky a task.
Interesting body language in the pic. You can sure see which brother was in charge.
Posted by: Donnah at March 22, 2006 01:38 AMyou talkin' about Galadrielle not getting a thing, Donnah ? She sure looks like him..She's got the 'Layla' thing goin on in court, but the guys over
at The LesPaul forums ar all upset because they thought only 55 DA signature replicas were made...turns out some overseas collectors convinced
Gibson to make 15 more...with Ms. Allman's approval
of course.
They cast lots for the robe, too didn't they..
Posted by: Owen Crosby at March 22, 2006 07:10 AMOMG, is that Paul Hornsby second from the right?
Ha. I'll bet he wishes he had that hair now.
Who's that in the middle?
Posted by: Carl in Atlanta at March 22, 2006 01:08 PMYes, that's Paul Hornsby, Juan.
Carl-It kind of looks like drummer Johnny Sandlin before his hair grew out, and maybe the guy to the far right is bass player Mabron McKinney, who bailed on them and got replaced by Pete Carr.

Owen-I'm glad she's getting something. She sure didn't get any personal effects.
I looked at the BMI record for "Layla" and Duane's name isn't on it, only Clapton's and Gordon's, so she's not being paid songwriter royalties for Duane's coming up with that famous opening riff.
Not to seem unkind, but I knew Johnny (Jaimoe) in 1981 - I'm surprised he was able to write and spell that well. He always thought, for example, that my name was Ken. Although he could remember my axe, and I guess that's what was important.
Posted by: Juan Paxety at March 22, 2006 02:14 PMHere's Mabron (far left) in his band "The Cavemen." Looks like the same guy to me.

Bwee-hee!
Posted by: Donnah at March 22, 2006 02:40 PMI think Eric Clapton has been subbed to testify (or already has, willingly) on behalf of the Allman family..its pretty much just a matter of 'how much'
because, as I understand it, there is legitimate
documentation that as to Duane's contribution. The 'split' supposedly being 20% to each ?
(of the label's cut to them)
Personally, I think it, and Hot Lanta..and all of
his personal effects should be in Miss Allman's
possession, unless it was her and Mama's deciding
'who to'...
But I wasn't there, so I should keep my mouth
shut..I AM one of those guys who has desecrated
his grave..sort of..
it still blows my mind, his accomplishments, before age 24..kind of a prodigy, huh ?
Another strike against evolution.
