Accused Duke Lacrosse Player Guilty

Of leaving a cab driver a nice tip at the time of the alleged crime.
Oh, also of having rich parents.

These two analyses make for an interesting contrast. One thing they both agree on though: this is about an election. This case won't go to trial until after that's over.

Yep, yep...

It's always good to be polite and have nice manners. You never know how it will pay off but in the end it will always be good.

Well, hey, we should string the guy for the rich parents thing, just on principle.

Yep. The Waiter Rule is once more displayed. Be polite and leave a nice tip.

It's a damn good thing these guys have parents with money: good lawyers don't come cheap.

Since this IS an election year and therefore anything is possible, would the mere fact that they were charged now qualify them for football scholarships at some of our finer football combines, I mean universities? I'm just trying to find the silver lining on this thing because nothing else about it makes much sense at this point.

I can't see any silver lining. Even if all charges are dropped and they sue the hell out of the university and the police department, they're still going to have to leave school and have their names forever associated with this crap.

of course it has crossed everyone's mind..the truth is that these rich white boys have gone and paid off the taxi company, had the time stamps hermetically altered on the film, *encouraged* the bank to 'correct' the ATM receipt..and falsified statements
from past acquaintances, all in an effort to slip
out of this awful incident.
Somebody has to take a stand, it might as well be
the victims's ex-husband. Even after all this time
since their divorce or whatever, he still defends her honor..and her right to peaceably strip for money and fun, without being raped incessantly by
rich white Lacrosse players. I am on his side.

Duke is an Ivy League School and very expensise to matriculate. Formerly, it was all white; not so much because of segregation, but for High SAT scores and Big Money; therefore the elite enjoyed the fruits of Duke.

Because these boys are from affluent homes, does not give them the right to rape a black woman or any woman. I want to believe that they thought they could get away with it; in that, the purported victim would be too embarrassed to tell, or the boys felt that no one would believe her, since they were in a high-and-mighty posiiton, as Duke's students just do not behave in that manner.

I do not believe that the boys should have been tried in the Media. That was wrong.

I believe as well, that the alleged victim made a a bad decision for choosing to do exotic dancing, and should be punished for her dicision. There are other more reputable means to work her way through college than by exotic dancing, which includes nudity and can be classified closely akin to Prostitution.

I think the public should wait-out the trail. If these boys are found guilty, they should get just punishment. Meanwhile, the victim should get some kind of punishment, as a lesson for being myopic. At 27 years, she should have known better.
