Instead of adding another update to yesterday's story about Phil Walden's memorial, I'll note the news from today's story, which I didn't expect: not only was Phil buried in Rose Hill, but he's also joined the select company of Duane Allman and Berry Oakley in the old section. The spot was hard to come by, but very fitting:
About 100 people showed up today to pay their final respects to legendary record producer Phil Walden, who was laid to rest in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Rolling Stones keyboardist Chuck Leavell, singer Bonnie Bramblett, members of Otis Redding's family and Galadrielle Allman, daughter of the late Duane Allman, were among the notable attendees of the brief, 10-minute service.
Walden was buried in the old part of Rose Hill per his wishes. Originally, it was thought there wasn't an available plot in that part of the cemetery - where Allman, Elizabeth Reed (namesake of an Allman Brothers song) and Allman Brothers bassist Berry Oakley also are buried - but a plot that Walden had bought and sold to the city in the 1970s and had remained unsold was available.

UPDATE:
Juan Paxety has more and says the grave is somewhere near the Little Martha statue.
Is Galadrielle the redhead???

Posted by: Donnah at April 27, 2006 07:28 PMshe's changed a bit from the other photos I have seen of her..in fact a lot..it doesn't look any thing like her at all.
I sort of thought that Rose Hill would be it.
thats really cool.
The last photos you've seen of her are at least ten years old.
Posted by: Donnah at April 27, 2006 08:27 PMi think it's way cool for phil to get buried there. good or bad, it wouldn't have happened that way without him.
Posted by: richard at April 27, 2006 09:07 PMYes, it is very cool.

If you want to watch a pretty good clip of the ABB, back when they were jamming pretty well with their current lineup at the time, you can go to http://btcsnet.com/music/neverknew.mpg and have at it. It's about 47-48MB but well worth watching. You don't get to experience this kinda stuff often.
Posted by: Trambo at April 28, 2006 01:11 AMGregg looked and sounded very good. Thanks, Trambo.
Posted by: Donnah at April 28, 2006 01:37 AMooh that's the brothers of the road video, first set down in flor-i-da! they were hot back in the enlightened rogues days. there's a segment shot in the studio in between the concert segments that shows greg farting around, very stoned and doing melissa by himself. he's got a touch on the guitar, no doubt. and some back porch picking in the hotel room with dickey and beers.
best part of that whole show is the second part from the indoor show, with dickey wailing and dan toler's playing very duane-esque. i liked that so much i bootlegged it from a vhs to a vhs after renting it at blockbuster back in like '82. soon after that they split up and Betts, Hall, Leveall and Trucks were on the USA network. i remember butch and his cowboy hat. viva trambo!
Posted by: richard at April 28, 2006 01:13 PMI think it's one helluva clip. Nice production if you ask me. I have 2 Videos (VCR/VHS) of 2 concerts each. I'm working on getting some clips from those. When I'm done, I'll post them here. Long live the ABB!
