There's some good news from the publishing world: Randy Poe's Duane Allman book is available for pre-order. Whenever a copy is ordered, an angel learns a lick.
Posted by floridacracker at May 7, 2006 08:51 PMNEXT OCTOBER? Surely he's got some advance copies lying around....
Great cover.

I'm very anxious to get my hands on a copy too.

Posted by: wilmarwil at April 30, 2006 11:54 AMOctober? What, the 35th anniversary of his passing?
Whatever... I pre-ordered, but I hate these marketing ploys. I WANT IT NOW !!
whatcha know about it, donnah? anything at all? talked/corresponded with this poe fella?
so much for my grandeloquent notion! lol
Posted by: richard at April 30, 2006 01:42 PMI've read some of the questions and answers over on the Wyker forum.
Y'all might want to join that Yahoo group. There are some interesting Duane posts over there.
There, if nowhere else, Poe was told that Duane didn't walk on water. I never will understand people not getting the difference between the musician and the person. I'm hoping for a balanced account of Duane's life in this book.

Posted by: Donnah at April 30, 2006 01:52 PMthanks for the heads up
my myspace page now says "scroll down on the left to music for Duane Allman" and i've got the videos for the first 3 songs from the fillmore video and then a complete(well, edited but you know what i mean) whipping post from same show.
not bad for finding them on the web and cutting and pasting some code.
