Most of my older relatives are, or are becoming, deaf. I used to fear this for myself until I realized the upside of it: that I'd never, ever again have to hear Dan F-ing-olgelberg's "Another Auld Lang Syne", Bob Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone," or "The Tennessee Waltz."

Thank you much for this link, Donnah. My band does a cover of "Wayfaring Stranger" as covered by Eva, and I think she is way undiscovered.

My husband has satellite radio in his car, and I heard this on a trip last year. I didn't know who it was by, so I listened to a lot of 'Tennessee Waltz' files until I found the voice. Then I wanted to find the whole song and not just a snippet. It's not on I-tunes, and on alltheweb I found exactly one page that had the whole song. So here it is. She's singing live.
Just wanted to share the sound of a naturally lovely, non-"enhanced" voice with whoever cared to listen.

I'll grant you--it doesn't make my ears bleed like Patti's version does.

it is great, she is very talented. This version's melody is augmented, accenting certain aspects of the song that she is able to match with her voice...not only is that classy..it's tough. Good find, if you don't mind me saying so.
