A Georgia Boy Gone

I'm very sad to write that Rob, who wrote as "Acidman" on Gut Rumbles, has passed away suddenly. My condolences to his family.

i found blogs through john leo's column about insta-whozis. alternative to media spin? hmm, check it out. then i went down his blogroll and found my daily reads. i knew donnah from the ABB duane forums. she was head and shoulders above the average post-er. from there i found florida cracker on the malkin blogroll. ooh, my...hey, i know her, i thinks. then donnah just tells me to post some duane stuff here as a guest. oh no, i demur. she says "start your own, young jedi." i think "no way".

well, acidman made me see different. if that ornery sumbitch can write his life like an open book, i can post piddley pieces of opinion and musical tributes easy.

he's on my list of daily reads for a bunch of reasons but being a proud southerner who ain't afraid to tell his life is foremost. he might have been acidic but he had a gift for words.

as does my only blogmother, miss donnah. anytime i write about music, i'm doing a pale imitation of her wit and verve.

Just damn! as Rob Smith would say.

thank you, donnah. now...isn't it almost wednesday?

Yep, yep... I was saddened when I hit his page this morning and saw Sam's post. The A man had a way with words and he sometimes was a bit caustic but he was always a good daily read.
I'll miss his wit and writting but I will not forget.

I found him through Country Store's blogroll long ago. No, he didn't hold anything back when he wrote. It cost him plenty too.
I'm sorry for his kids that they lost their dad so soon.
