Please, Sir, I Want Some More

Courtesy of YO and Clay Pelland, a new snippet of Duane Allman and Thom Doucette at the UNC Chapel Hill concert, May 1,1971.
Clay promises more to come.

Clay Pelland is the one to thank, for being so kind as to share this video. Even a few seconds is enough to make Duane freaks like ourselves go nuts. Berry Oakley's final show is also on youtube, for those interested in more Allman's nostalgia. Gregg's last words on ''Whipping Post'' are pretty poignant, considering what would happen to Oakley some few days later

Dang, I missed that one (I think); double dang 'cause I may have been wasting my time in DC at some rally or other. Wasn't that the spring of the "Cambodian moratorium", when the colleges were essentially shut down after all the ROTC buildings got torched? [with all the radical profs calling off class, giving out A's and then sending us off to protest, 'twas the easiest GPA boost I ever got]. Then again, maybe that was '72...
Strange times, but actually not as strange as now.

Wow...... My thanks YO.
It did brighten up my morning after reading about the A man.

Thom Doucette was one nice-looking fellow. I wonder what he's been up to the last few decades or so. There are still plenty of Doucettes around Sarasota.

Last I heard Tommy was teaching yoga in Sarasota.

Thanks, Sam. Well, at least we know he's healthy.
