Dives

I had no idea they used dogs for this:

A cadaver-sniffing canine on a boat pinpointed the area where the two men drowned, and divers retrieved the body at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, said Jim Walters, assistant director of Escambia Search and Rescue

I knew they could smell a drop of blood in a bucket of water, but this is a bay. What a good dog.
Speaking of smelling blood in the water, ticket sales for Barbra Streisand's climate change tour are so anemic, promoters are trying to get her an "in" on the lucrative supermarket grand-opening circuit to try to lessen their financial loss. It turns out not so many fools want to part with $800 for a ticket.

At this point, promoters are looking at losing $15 million on the deal.

The thing that really made it all possible was the fellow who saved three of the victims. He nailed the GPS coordinates from his boat, so the rescuers and their sniffer puppies went straight to the site. No wasted time doing grid searches. Quick thinking of the most important kind.

Apparently none of them could swim. And not a soul had a life jacket on. 44 year old Stewart had an arm cast. NONE of it had to happen, that's the REAL tragedy.

That was such a sad story. I'm so happy the kid made it, and I hope they catch whoever it was did the hit-and-run swamping.
I never knew they took dogs out into open water to sniff for drowned people. That's really something.

I'm pretty certain no matter how much she sings, she can't change the climate.

More's coming out now ~ the little guy and one of the girls WERE wearing vests.

Doesn't Babs ever think that all the work that goes into a large-scale tour harms the environment? We're talking power by the megawatt, gas used for moving around those huge and completely inefficient tour buses, and of course, her spouting all that hot air! For the sake of the Earth, Babs, please stop!

That's so true. That tour will leave Streisand's carbon footprints all over Gaia.
