Posted by: Gmac at July 8, 2006 08:02 PMI agree with pam but one of these days we will become painfully aware of the specific price paid for the assistance that the NYT and other media organs (and I use that term with widest possible application of the word) provide our would-be killers.
I look forward one day to visiting some reporter, editor, or producer in jail when they refuse to name sources that divulge classified information. I would enjoy asking them a broad array of questions for my "article". "How's the food? Have you made any new 'friends'? Did you know that the color orange brings out the color in your cheeks"?
I'm sure they'd turn down my request for an interview but I hope we soon start to see progress with investigations that will turn up the individuals that are providing classified to the media and ultimately those that seek to destroy America.
Posted by: tfhr at July 8, 2006 08:13 PMDid you read the Katherine Graham link where she talks about a newspaper's decision to print secret info cost those Marines their lives in Beirut?
Posted by: Donnah at July 10, 2006 07:35 AMYup, sure did.
Posted by: tree hugging sister at July 10, 2006 10:31 AMAdd Graham's decision to Mike Wallace's position that he would not warn U.S. troops of an impending ambush and you have two of the big fish in the print and electronic media acting to facilitate the killing of Americans. They have set a standard for others in their profession and some have accepted it and carry on against their own countrymen. Traitors!
