Liberal Larry explains why "The Path to 9-11" docudrama is so objectionable. It really cleared up a lot of my misunderstandings on this issue, and I'm sure you'll find it illuminating as well:
Democrat leaders are furious over an upcoming ABC dramatization of the 9/11 tragedy that unfairly portrays President Clinton as too distracted by Monica Lewinsky to pursue Osama Bin Laden. It's clearly a partisan attack, intended to divide Americans at a time they should all be uniting behind Democrats. As President, Bill Clinton was perfectly capable of both defending this nation from terrorists AND ejaculating all over the hired help. That's what true leadership is all about.
Like Mr. Clinton said, "Just tell the truth."
Posted by floridacracker at September 9, 2006 11:15 AMAs a conservative I STRONLY urge ABC to correct the falsehoods and misrepresentations in the upcoming “Path to 9/11” before it is shown.
Posted by: clearwaterconservative at September 9, 2006 01:24 PMAs a fake, spamming conservative, I'm sure you do. As a real conservative, I agree.
Posted by: Donnah at September 9, 2006 01:30 PMI always wonder if people like that actually think comments like that are the least bit believable as authentic or if they really are scientology-style stupid.
Posted by: marc at September 9, 2006 01:52 PMI think this one's demented enough to think he's believable. Even after his cover's been blown a dozen times, he spammingly soldiers on, not even bothering to change his name.
Posted by: Donnah at September 9, 2006 02:02 PMI would vote for a strictly factual account. It would be more damning against Clinton than the made up one.
Posted by: Purple Avenger at September 9, 2006 07:04 PMI really don't think the 'truth' about the course of events during the Clinton age is even remotely fathomable by the general populous... at least that portion of the populous that still has some vague sense of reality to reference.
So the squabble is about what neo-history is being
served up to that portion of our populous that is
waiting (Springer audience style) for the show.
or something like that.
Posted by: csason at September 9, 2006 08:27 PMClinton and the word "truth" in the same sentence, plus him urging others to tell it, makes my head hurt.
What would be a shock would be having ABC/Disney do a documentary on the islamofaschists going back say to around 1940 or so to trace their roots to where they are today and all the foul ups and absolute screw ups that allowed them to get away with what they've done.
There's a lot of blame to go around but the lion's share is in the boy president's 8 years in office when he did damn near nothing to prevent attacks or to even respond to them other than to let the FBI run willynilly around looking for 'clues'. If he and the Democrats don't like it thats just tough, the facts and history aren't on their side and there's not a damn thing they can do to change it.
Oh, and CC up there^^^ I strongly agree that the 'miniseries' needs to be changed so that it clearly shows what the boy president did to obstruct his dalliances when he blew to hell and gone an aspirin factory after he got caught with his pants around his ankles in Monica's presence.
"Wag the dog". Clinton wouldn't know the truth if if bit him in the ass and called him baby.
Gmac, you nailed it. I wrote back when BillyJeff was Prez that he was taken to the emergency room in DC because he was given a shot of "truth serum" and had a violent reaction.
The last thing Clinton would beg for would be the truth.
Posted by: Trambo at September 9, 2006 10:21 PMmy biggest gripe with Bill Clinton, aside from the issue of introducing my four daughters to the concept of illicit sex with a married superior officer, when they were ages 7-16...is that we hired him for the job of staying vigilant about our security..THAT is really the only friggin job the
idiot on the hill is responsible for. The President is the guy with his finger on the button.
Any vet who has pulled guard duty knows the implication.
So all the time that WJ spent f-ing around with Monica and whomever else...NOBODY was watching the
line. It doesnt matter who (Gore or worse) was left to mind the store..it's the CinC's job.
just so my old school dunderheadedness doesn't overpower the stance, I'd like to offer my overview of the King of Hope, from a psycosocial viewpoint:
The entire world suffered under the helm of the Clinton's but not Hill and Billary...no.
What we see when looking at Mr. Honest is his Mama's issues with long lost Dad. Moreover, with
her issues with men..so Bill is the epitomy of her
vengance, and you know it's real.
Thanks, but please elect someone who isn't living in the shadow of some weird family crap...
Peyton against Peyton...should be a good game.
