Dead Girls And Live Boys

Getting caught with either one is bad for a political career:

Rep. Mark Foley, R-Fla., resigned from Congress on Friday, effective immediately, in the wake of questions about e-mails he wrote a former male page.

"I am deeply sorry and I apologize for letting down my family and the people of Florida I have had the privilege to represent," he said in a statement issued by his office.

Foley, 52, had been considered a shoo-in for re-election until the e-mails surfaced in recent days.

While the letters look innocuous, the quick resignation says they aren't. The normal procedure would be to fight for your good name, even when you're Ted Kennedy and don't have one. Either Foley's opponent, Tim Mahoney, got ahold of some red meat, or Foley naturally folds like a cheap suit. I'm betting on the former. I say he wanted to turn that page over.

UPDATE:
The instant messages are just a tad more damning. He wanted to turn that page over and dog-ear him.

Does Mark Foley make you a little horny? He wants to know.

I blogged about Foley this morning and just updated with a link here.

My wife and MIL have met Foley's parents. They used to be parishoners at our church.

I'd like to give Foley the benefit of the doubt, but why resign if nothing was wrong? You're probably right Donnah.

Even when you've been caught dead-to-rights, you slap on that neckbrace and get out there and deny it.

Well, more info popped out after I saw the initial blurb...as I say "Hope the door leaves deep bruises".

It's awfully hard to be a gay(pedophilic) Republican, Democratic hypocracy being what it is and all. Garry Studds D-MA anyone? Not to mention Barney Franks and his cat house. (Can you call it that?)

The open seat means it'll have to be a write in candidate.
Unlike NJ politics there will not be someone pulled from the retired ranks to fill in the now empty position.

I was just about to toss a link to it. He's a freaking pervert.
As KOS would say: "Screw him", whatta a maroon.
Never EVER send something electronically if you don't want your momma to see it, much less your political opponents.
Sheesh...

Does he walk around in cowboy boots filled with Vaseline? Hopefully this will take some of the heat off Congressman Dilbeck.

The Republicans:

They put an Arabian Horse Judge in charge of disaster management.
They put oil company lobbyists in charge of our energy policy.
They put Dubai in charge of our port security.
And they put a child predator in charge of the Committee for Missing and Exploited Children.

Who will you put in charge in November?

9/26/06 - the date that the word "pervert" came back into style.

Yeeesh.

Have there always been this many pervs out there, or has there been a dramatic increase in perversion in, say, the last 20 years or so?

And this guy always seemed so wholesome and, well, downright good. Like a YMCA youth director, or the youth minister at church.....

"Who will you put in charge in November? "

How about Ted Kennedy?
