UPDATE:
I believe the graduated exposure of systematic desensitization is the cure for the anxiety underlying Islamicist tantrums. Its application has alleviated a wide-range of phobias in the past, and should work here with the added benefit of preserving the desensitizers' Freedom of Speech.
Our repeatedly exposing Islamicists to Mohammed cartoons will gradually trigger less of a response from them, and it beats our walking through life on eggshells lest we provoke a jihad.
