For shooting himself in the foot. He's the talk of the town today for telling college students they'd get stuck in Iraq if they didn't study hard. This isn't the first time he's smeared the troops. I'm beginning to think he looks down on them.
Having gone in enlisted with two Masters, I'll say that my five years in the Army were spent surrounded by the highest concentration of clever people I've ever encountered in my life. Everybody had to learn Russian before they could even begin to do their job. Their wattage was pretty amazing. Once I was home again among the general populace, I was forced to renew my acquaintance with the dim bulb.
I'll chalk up Kerry's statement to his ongoing struggle with hoof-in-mouth disease. Considering how poorly he himself did in school, it's a wonder he's lecturing a college crowd about keeping up their grades.
It was an ignorant statement, but don't expect an apology from a guy who says, "I don't fall down."

To be fair though, Masters in Allmanology and Taxidermy don't really count.
Posted by: Bill from INDC at October 31, 2006 03:56 PMOh, and John Kerry is an *******e.
Posted by: Bill from INDC at October 31, 2006 03:58 PMRemember my statement about Carl Rove and Democrats falling on their swords on command for him?
Need I say anything else other than John F'n Kerry just delivered another quote for the ages and the mobilization orders for the Republican base to head out to the polls next Tuesday.
"I'm lovin' it."
Posted by: Gmac at October 31, 2006 05:52 PMI am absolutely certain that his track and yours were completely different..in fact from all I've heard and read from this idiot, he'd probably agree.
My gripe is.. I have many friends and loved ones, some who gave all, who served during Kerry's 'whatever' he is a piece of ***t. One of my friends died of liver cancer, secondary to being bathed in Paraquat 35 years prior while in country.
No one, save a few even knew he had two purple hearts, matching bronze stars, and a few jewels in his crown for the RA's lives who were aided in the process. And then along comes John...
Talkin' trash... I notice he does that only when he has plenty of peacelovers and SS surrounding him. I dare him to come on down to the basic and fundamental life and run that mouth.
Carl is right...
Posted by: csason at October 31, 2006 07:53 PMThis will not be forgotten and forgiven. Not by me, anyway. I'd write more, but then I'd fall afoul of your orders about "no foaming from the mouth" above. It's your blog.
Posted by: MaxedOutMama at October 31, 2006 10:42 PMJohn Kerry, when he opens his mouth, is Frank Burns come to life.
excellent point...Oh great retread.
From a psycho-social standpoint, John has made a
*deal* with the world = "I'll promise never to be a real threat, as long as you let me pretend I could be." If the opposite were true, he would have instructed them all to grab their camera, join the OCS, and after a stint or two in the 'Raq, they too could become keepers of the light... but instead, he said "You will never forget what I am about to say..,because it is so stupid, and I will be ridiculed for it, and will hide as the result of it, and you will never want to be like me."
"I am convinced a volunteer army would be an army of the poor and the black and the brown," Kerry wrote. "We must not repeat the travesty of the inequities present during Vietnam. I also fear having a professional army that views the perpetuation of war crimes as simply 'doing its job.'"
That's Kerry in 1972 with the same joke.
