This raises some questions about our society, doesn't it? Questions like "what's with guys attending baby showers?" and "do they like the clothespin game?"
One person died and four people were injured during a shooting at a baby shower, authorities said.Posted by floridacracker at November 20, 2006 02:00 PMA group of 15 people apparently arrived at the celebration and had a verbal confrontation with guests attending the baby shower, which was being held at a local hall Saturday evening.
At some point, individuals retrieved an assault type weapon and other handguns from their vehicles and shots were exchanged, according to a statement from the Miami-Dade Police Department.
It was unclear what led to the shooting.
Vilfort Leosthene, 26, was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Another individual, Jason Joseph, 20, was in critical condition. Two other men and one woman were in stable condition, the statement said.
It's just the logical and foreseeable effect of having guy/girl baby and wedding showers. I know that I've had to attend a couple with my wife and I wished that I had brought my "assault type weapon" with me. I figure a MAC 10 would end the "guess what disgusting substance is in this unlabeled baby food jar just by the color and texture" game really quickly.

That's a fun game, btw.
It’s the combination of MEN and BABY SHOWER that is the problem. There is more than one reason why these two have been separated for thousands of years and this is the result of breaking with tradition.
Posted by: Cindy at November 21, 2006 09:15 AMSomehow I'm thinking it was the combination of asshats with egos and a common meeting area that instigated the confrontation.
Cindy nailed it though... Baby shower w/t men in attendance? If they weren't Chippendale dancers then it's just wrong.
This passes for "reporting":
"...had a verbal confrontation with guests..."
Followed by:
"It was unclear what led to the shooting."
Journalism school, indeed.
