"This is now an FBI investigation."
--US Attorney David Nahmias
Undoubtedly they stepped in on the Civil Rights angle. Hopefully they'll be able to see the broader view over the top of that particular manure pile. The issues in this case apply to everyone.
Video of the confidential informant making his claims that he never went to Johnston house can be found here. Using a journalism term, CNN has labeled the video as "snitch."

that's a diry world, as in all metro areas.. it's getting like that around here.
I'm gonna wait and see if anybody else gets sick sampling the story first...sry. I have seen a lot of 88 year old crack ladys...in other words they probably were selling.
I've seen even more dishonest snitches, and it's their *job* to get creative. M'boy in this situation will be a whole lot happier being catered to as the dupe of the narcs, than being their alibi. Wonder how long he would have lasted if he had done that.
Posted by: csason at November 28, 2006 12:41 PMGranny's ain't what they used to be, that's for sure. However, if she isn't Grandma Barker, this won't go down easy with me. There are lots of dishonest snitches; you're absolutely right. However, the point is is that this is bad whether he's lying or telling the truth.
As far as the druggies go, they can put them all on a island, drop down one container each of the most popular drugs, and let them kill each other over them. The Agitator is coming at this from a drug-legalization angle; I'm sure not.
Also, every single encounter I've ever had with the police has been polite and professional.
If you've seen the post on Volokh, this warrant was literally rubber-stamped. I think routinely issuing these is wrong for two reasons: 1) it's an extreme invasion of privacy 2) it's easy for it to escalate into deadly force.
Lastly, if there was ever a mistake made and my house got raided, my dogs would probably get hurt. They're mouthy and belligerent about strangers coming into the house.
Posted by: Donnah at November 28, 2006 06:14 PMIf there was a mistaken raid on my home, I would be the one that was hurt...probably a lot like her, only I keep a calvary saber over the door (it's scary just to look at)
That being said, I am generally pissed off at the LEOs for not chasing down more illegals.
The drug trade is here..and it has to be frustrating to be the wheelbarrow driver in the whole thing.
nah it probably wasn't ok, I just would love to here this guy runnin his gator after a couple of beers
