Posted by: peter at January 3, 2007 03:35 AMIn my middle age I can't sleep anymore [been waking up at 4 am lately]. At least I have these photos to look forward to on Wed mornings. Nice shot of the left hand in this shot; get a load of that five-inch-long ring finger!
Posted by: Carl in Atlanta at January 3, 2007 05:47 AMI really like this shot Donnah. Shows how complete concentration can transform the common man from ordinary to genuis. That cat had some lllooonnnggg fingers. No wonder he could make magic on a guitar neck. My husband attempts to play guitar but he has short, stubby fingers. He is also left handed but plays right handed. That is the only thing that is remotely like the master! Thanks again Donnah, you rock. I can now make the rest of the week. Instead of TGIF, I survive on the premise of TGIW! Wail on, Brother! Oh yea csason, isn't that Ollie, Ollie Oxen Free? Never heard Auction free.
Posted by: cindy at January 3, 2007 09:48 AMThanks Donnah,
please don't ever quit!

Posted by: Fearless Fred at January 3, 2007 01:00 PMI'm listening to The ABB "At the Ludlow Garage" as I'm viewing this pic. I've finally figured out Duane was singing "You got dimples on your jaw" instead of "You've got dimples on your dog" (I love the clarity in a CD) Wail on, indeed!
Posted by: Willard at January 3, 2007 04:18 PMDuane takes a solo on the Conn Strobotuner, friend to all instrumentalists and orchestras everywhere.
Wail on!
(Book, book, book, book, book, book, book.)
Posted by: richard at January 3, 2007 10:47 PMI think you're right, Richard. It's funny when I look up the pics of it, "vintage" is anything pre-1980. Imagine that.
Posted by: Donnah at January 3, 2007 10:58 PMThanks a lot Willard. For 30 years I wondered why anyone would have dimples on their door.
Posted by: peter at January 4, 2007 07:58 AMi'm liking the book so far. nice re-writes of all the old sources and stories. he's got talent, that one.
i remember tuning my tuba to a conn strobotuner back in 75-76 in jr. high.
as for vintage being pre-80, i try to make 82 the cut off mark on my git-fiddles and 84-86 for my boss stompboxes.
