In football in general, and in COLLEGE footbal specificaly, the kind of absolutist guarantee's that were made in the pre-game mean nothing. The teams will deliver or they won't. While OSU ain't out, Florida is actually doing it on the field, the numbers are by far favoring FLA.

I'm not a follower of college football, but in the first quarter, the dual QB aspect was absolutely BRILLIANT!

I mean, the 3 back offense shows up at times in the NFL, but Imagine the affectiveness of vick, if vick lines up, and lets a second QB to take a hike, like a half back hike?

I don't know if that is a common gimmick in college, but really, that just opens up so many doors for offensive guile.

Only my wife and a few of my friends know that I predicted this since the end of last year. Urban Meyer spoke at a breakfast in Lakeland just before his first season. He said they would go 8-4 the first year (9-4) and an SEC championship the next, well THEY DID ONE GAME BETTER !!!

This must be said : Chris Leak has seasoned into a real Championship quarterback (as have a lot of these players) and there will be no naysayers now.

The SEC is THE toughest conference in town, baby..if you can SURVIVE a season in the SEC, you have done something. Chris has managed to survive four. I love the Florida Gators.

They thought, along with all the coaches and AP pollsters, that if they just stayed away from the SEC teams, like LSU ( a powerhouse team, up in rankings) and Spurrier's Gamecocks (another great team) that the SEC would just go away.

The price they have paid is NATIONAL humiliation.

In the future, it would really behoove these other conferences if they would stop that waggle, at least until after you have sampled the tempo.

From what I saw in the bowl games, a playoff would have likely produced a Florida/USC matchup for the national championship. There's no substitute for speed.
