damn, Donnah..
I can't believe they let that get that bad.
I can smell it all the way over here.
Posted by: csason at January 10, 2007 08:23 PMSupposedly that all came up in a couple of days. (A deep abscess surfacing?) Maybe it's Pigeon fever. I don't know enough about horses to say. But from the posted info, this wasn't about neglect, even if it looks that way. I can only take their word for it.
That pony sure was happy toward the end of things.
I bet he feels better
Posted by: the real Nancy at January 10, 2007 08:34 PMMy Great Grandfather was a vet, the kind that delivered babies in a pinch. He wrote a little booklet he left with his patients on various home cures, most of them were a combination of whiskey and cocaine and such...oh and turpentine.
We actually used the turpentine one with a colic-ee
horse once..worked like a charm. Of course the garden hose helped a little.
Horses have so many different types of colic caused by so many different things. I'd be afraid of doing any home cures on them.
Posted by: Donnah at January 11, 2007 12:35 AMThat was heartrending, and completely disgusting.
I will be brushing my teeth until the superbowl.
