It seems like Shaolin monks are always killing someone then fleeing. It's a bad habit:
Charlotte County deputies are searching for a Shaolin monk who is a suspect in a Port Charlotte suspicious death.Deputies responded Wednesday around 3:15 p.m. to a call at 2080 Rickover St. in Port Charlotte, and ended up finding one person dead.
Now deputies are seacrhing for Scott Huss, who is listed in religious directors as a Shaolin monk. He was last seen in a 2006 PT Cruiser and is considered dangerous.
The property belongs to the Temple of the Tao, according to property records.
He was driving west; count on it. And he'll be bringing justice with him.

There was some guy with the same name who was posting on a board complaining about his Russian wife. If it's the same person, this story could end up being a lot stranger that it seems already.

It was a show that made you think and since I was 15 when the series started, I surely needed to think. I shortly also started watching 'The Waltons', identifying with John-Boy. Both these shows seemed to make you seek your place in the world.
Posted by: Willard at April 26, 2007 01:13 PMBTW, they caught the guy here in Tallahassee yesterday. From an online report:
Yana Huss is the name of the woman found dead in a house at 2080 Rickover St., Port Charlotte, Wednesday night, and suspect Scott Huss has been charged with manslaughter, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office reported today.
The sheriff’s office went to the house at 3:10 p.m. Wednesday after it got a call from the Longwood Police Department asking it to check on the house. The police in Longwood got a call from Scott Huss’ mother who made the request after he had dropped off his stepson at her house.
Charlotte County deputies went inside the house after it did not get a response and they found Yana Huss, 31, dead and assumed it was foul play, the sheriff’s office reported. She is Scott Huss' wife.
By following leads, Charlotte County detectives were able to track suspect Scott Huss, 48, to Tallahassee.
After finding the body, Charlotte County Sheriff's officials began hunting for Huss, who was last seen in his 2006 PT Cruiser.
They apparently received information that Scott Huss, might travel to Tallahassee, and at 9:30 p.m., they contacted the Tallahassee Police Department, according to a press statement issued by Tallahassee police.
In that statement, here's what the Tallahassee Police say transpired, after they got the call from Charlotte County:
Charlotte officials told Tallahassee police that Huss was likely heavily armed and suicidal. Police began a thorough search of hotels and motels.
Huss' PT Cruiser was found in the parking lot of a Best Western at 6737 Mahan Drive. Police officers confirmed that Huss had rented a room, but they found out that Huss had taken a cab and left the motel.
Police officers then called cab companies and found out that Huss had been dropped off in the 600 block of West Tennessee Street, in an area known as Frenchtown. Within minutes police found Scott Huss at a bus terminal where he had bought a ticket. They took him into custody without incident.
Scott Huss was booked into the Leon County Jail in Tallahassee.
Huss was arrested by the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office on April 13 for violation of a domestic violence protection order against his wife.

A couple of clarifications. The Best Western he checked into is one that is located east of the city along U.S. Highway 90 (the eastern half of Highway 90 in Tallahassee is called Mahan Drive while the western half is called Tennesee Street -- no one really knows why). Frenchtown is one of the older sections of town located adjacent to the downtown area. It is predominately black and is currently undergoing major improvements and renovations. The Greyhound bus station is located nearby where he was intending to slip out of town on one of the buses.
Posted by: Carl at April 26, 2007 08:53 PMThe cops were called 21 times in the last two weels for domestic distubance.
The 21st time she was found dead.
That is so sad.
