He swiped a Camry or Sentry each day, just to drive to his bay-bay:
Whenever Antonio Moreno wanted to see his girlfriend, police say, he'd jump in a car and drive right over. But there was a problem. The 26 cars Moreno jumped into all belonged to someone else, according to authorities who arrested the 31-year-old near his Inglewood home on Wednesday. They said he was behind the wheel of a 1987 Toyota Camry when they found him.
Since January, police said, Moreno had been stealing Toyota Camrys and Nissan Sentras by using a simple device that starts Japanese cars of a certain age. Acting on a tip, members of a regional auto-theft task force took him into custody.
So clever, so full of beautiful acts of service, and now so cruelly cut down by both the law and love:
His girlfriend, who was not arrested, told authorities she had been trying to dump him.
How sad.
While I can't stand the song "Magic Bus," here's the excellent "Pictures of Lily":
There's also a sweet video taken during the original recording of the song if you'd like to have a look.
Posted by floridacracker at April 30, 2007 04:59 AMI'm amazed at the quality of recordings done on the equipment we had then. I had forgotten the mixing boards didn't have sliders. The vocals seem to be foreshadowing ELO, too.
Posted by: Juan Paxety at April 30, 2007 08:42 AMI really enjoyed the studio video. Seeing how they put it together was great.
Keith was doing some awesome drumming, wasn't he? It's also neat that he was their high note backing vocal. I hadn't known that.
I saw them in Jacksonville..It was their last tour with Moon, and I *think* it was the last time he played live in a tour with them.
The details are a bit ...hazy ;) Black Oak Arkansas opened the show, then Ichy Citchy Ya ya na na..lol
Patti Labelle and the girls.. THEN the Who !!!
laugh if you will :
1) We left on the spur of the moment with no tickets
2)I had just had surgery on my arm(pit)
3)The hawker that I bought our tickets from was forced to give me my money back by a cop, but I got to keep the tickets !
4) I took the extra bread and bought 2 sixpacks.
5) I stuffed one down my overalls and later traded one beer for a pint of Southern Comfort
6)I came to in the infirmary with a tag on my toe that said 'Bubba'
7)The Who let the crowd decide which opera to perform..we chose Tommy
8)Somebody got stabbed outside our motel room at the Gatorbowl motel (somehow blonde twins were in our room)
9)I was so close to the band I got covered with
instrument grunge a couple times (except for the infirmary part..)
