Whoever wrote these tips for new cat owners must not live in a hot clime. There was no tip for keeping kitty cool.

I was all set to make a crack about using a C02 fire extinguisher to "cool off" kitty but then I went and read that pathetic story linked at "cool". I don't like cats but being cruel to them, I just don't get, and freezing them is unacceptable.

Every local "humane society" is independent, so you can find some bad ones out there, usually from lack of funds. In my home county of Lee, the Animal Control department took over the HS, as things were unacceptable there. On the other side, the one here in Broward has a beautiful $6 million facility courtesy of Huizenga's wife and tons of support. The director makes a princely salary too.
