Sorry for the absence, but my notebook is having heat and fan issues and I'm in the process of getting a new one.
The only hot air and droning should be my own.
Have you taken off the component covers on the bottom of the unit and done PM? When my laptop runs warm I pull the covers, get some canned air and a few minutes later it's cool again.
Posted by: Ron at June 13, 2007 11:37 AMWe just got done ordering a Dell E1505. My husband said he'd clean this one up after the new one comes in. Despite being a hardware guru for a living, he doesn't want to mess with it because, you know, I'd be mad if he messed it up. Easier to buy the wife a new one.
The one I have now is an Inspiron 8600 and is a few years old. The heat and whirring have made it too hard for me to concentrate.
Besides, a quarter of the keys no longer have writing on them.

Donna - I'm shocked that you didn't stumble into this article about low notes and alligators! Sorry for posting this here but I just can't find any way to send you a message from your site.

I wouldn't use canned air on anything, unless I just wanted to see things crack and pop. There are only a couple of suppliers of that stuff that it doesn't blow as cold as refrigerant.
