In an inexplicable moment caught on camera, Duane was not front and center.
Wail on, Skydog!

This was the image burned into the minds of The Outlaws, Marshall Tucker and CDB..although Duane was
way more into jazz and such, they used this image as an excuse to take southern rock off in a C and W direction.

Either that, or it's just a weird ass picture.

Maybe it's just because it's 5th of July..

Duane may have been emulating their dressing habits but I'm betting little bro had gotten a warning that the next screw up he made he was gonna find a size 9 boot up his posterior and Skydog wore them onstage to emphasis the point.

I love that collection of old school amplification going on behind him too.

The more I look at the pic, the more I hear a cover of "Stand By Your Man" in the background..but I guess that just isn't possible.

But "D-I-V-O-R-C-E" is. Someone oughta scare up a recording of Gregg singing that one. Heh.

This looks like it was taken at that little "grotto" stage set up at the Byron Pop Festival in 1970. It was about a quarter mile behind the main stage, way back in the woods. The ABB played there for hours each day/night of the festival.
