From a series of slides in Central Park.
Duane looks to be getting down (literally) in that fourth one.
Wail on, Skydog!
Ahh.. but that number three shot is the note..
The Unwritten Note !
Great photo, great host.. Donnah is the bomb of the DA photos. no doubt.
He looks like a muppet. Or a fraggle.
SOME Jim Henson creation.

I always loved those notes the best.
One of my all-time favorite Duane slide licks is the last Fillmore Concert on the Eat A Peach Deluxe in Trouble No More just before the last verse ("Goodbye Baby,... Dont want no woman, Lord, that cant have no man...") Just before that part he wails on one of those wicked high notes... awesome.
Thanks for some great shots Donnah!
A man on a mission from the spiritual side. Thanks Donnah -- you're the tops.

Posted by: cindy at July 12, 2007 02:27 PMI saw the Allmans at the Fillmore East on March 12, 1971 (early show) when they opened for the mighty Johnny Winter who is now a good friend of mine. What an amazing show! I wish I could build a tme machine and see that show again every night I'm 51 now and I still listen to Johnny and Duane regularly. It keeps me strong, honest and happy. I wish to God ol' Skydog didn't get on that bike, but if you live fast sometimes you don't last too long and that's the way it goes. Duane's spirit and music will always be with me until I get to the other side and see him again. God bless brother Duane Allman, brother Berry Oakley and all the other kool kats who went home way too early. Thanks so much, Donnah, for posting these great pictures for old suburban hippies like me who remember the good stuff!
