Are you sure about the reference to "Riverside Park?" I don't know of any such named place in Macon - the park that's along the river now didn't exist in 1970. There was Lakeside Park, but I don't think Phil bought that until several years later. But still, there are pines in that part of town, so it could be there. There is "Central City Park" along the river levee, but this photo doesn't really look like that area. There are no pines like that there.

I'd looked it up before though. There's a Riverside Park Blvd in Macon. But you know, there's also a Riverside Park in Jacksonville.

I'll leave the city out.

I think I can definitely say it's not Riverside Park in Jacksonville - again, pine trees rather than the live oaks in Jax. I've sent the link to the former Business Manager for the Musician's Union in Macon at the time - maybe he'll recognize it. I wonder how the sunburn turned out.

I checked the live-show database. It's Riverside, California.

Thanks for catching that.

I've looked on a map. I don't think Riverside Park Boulevard in Macon existed in 1970, either. That area is built up now, but in 1970 was out in the country. I love mysteries.

Chili Peppers !

btw THAT GT that Dickey is playing is the one from last week (that we were wondering about) , I think..

I thought there was a Riverside Park in Macon also..near the bridge, in fact I thought it was close to Rose Hill.

I'm thankful I didn't have this guy as my competition.
