Posted by: mike at September 20, 2007 12:47 AMThe Warehouse in New Orleans is a marvelously raw concert venue. I saw Dylan's Rolling Thunder Revue there. My friends, it was nothing but a warehouse and a stage when Duane Allman played there; and when I was there.
For those interested in great guitar duels of that era, the kick-off show of the Rolling Thunder Review was in Houston at the Astrodome, featuring many superstars who only played that gig. I got to see Stephen Stills and Carlos Santana trading lead riffs and pushing each other through the stratosphere.
THAT had to be agood show..with Stilss and Santana.
I saw the Rolling Thunder Revue. I bought three tickets, one for myself and two more for my brothers. Two days before the show, I lost my ticket.
I went to the Lakeland Civic Center the evening of the show, hoping there might be a ticket, LOLOL.
EVERYBODY and their brother-in-law was hoping the same thing.
As I was walking away in defeat, some guy walked right up to me and said, "Hey, do you know anybody that wants a ticket?"..He wasn't a scabber..or whatever you call them.. I said "Sure.." He charged me what he paid for it.
It was the only show all three of us went to together.
Great pic, Donnah.. Thank you as always
