Anyone know the venue for this awesome pic? Atlanta, perhaps?
Wail on, Skydog!

Each week you amaze me with a photo of another aspect of the great artist at work.

This week: the cold, blue steel of the spotlight burnin' down on the sweatin', workin' man at his trade -- taking the electric guitar and inventing new musical worlds with it.

As the musical tones escaped the loudspeakers, transveyed from the slim fingers of the lone southron..
The extra-terrestials slowed their course..pausing in seeming awe at the sound that had drawn them from light years into the future..
"Have him, we must" they bleeped in unknown tongue..
"But it must look like an accident" one bleeped back..
And the rest..is history.

FYI -- another accolade to Donnah -- I raided the December 13, 2006 "Duane Pic Wednesday" comments and, with some editing, came up with "The Allman Brothers Band: In Memory of Elizabeth Reed". This post, including a live performance clip and "Who was Elizabeth Reed?" material may be found at:

I guess my alien abduction story pissed some people off..

I'm sure it didn't piss Dennis Kucinich off.....

He seems to have made contact. Perhaps that talked about Duane......

Dear C Sason,

I've seem you handle a slide guitar on YouTube. You're great.

Your fable above shows your poetic narrative lyrical talent and imagination. I loved it.

I loved your alien abduction story too, Owen.

Is it possible that those lights in the background are nebula and this is an actual abduction photo?

WOW COOL ONE DONNAH!!!!
Its hard to believe that so many different opportunities were taken to photograph Duane in his unfortunately short life. Im glad there were so we could see so much of him to remember. =)

(and guys, I wont believe the abduction until I see Donnah pull out a picture of aliens jamming with him HAHA!)
Hey, it could happen, Donnah always suprises us with unheard of photos! (insert Xfiles theme music here, but with sweet n skippy Duane licks thrown in) =P

Thanks again, Donnah, for completing my week! =D

I am so surprised nobody picked up on the trick Duane learned from Richard Betts in this photo...

Oh well, it's one that would certainly bring the aliens in..and that's my only hint.
