Barry "Asterisk" Bonds

bondsbalco.jpg

I'd always heard a good prosecutor could get a ham sandwich indicted, but I had no idea it could be done with a shit sandwich too:
Barry Bonds has more to worry about than an asterisk now.

Just three months ago, the former San Francisco Giants star angrily defended himself against steroid allegations on the night he surpassed Hank Aaron to become baseball's home run king.

"This record is not tainted at all," Bonds declared. "At all. Period."

On Thursday, his very freedom was put in jeopardy when a federal grand jury indicted him on five felony counts of perjury and obstruction of justice, charges that could result in a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison if he's convicted.

What a glorious game baseball is without cheaters.

I lost all respect for baseball in the 90's when they went on strike for the 2nd (?3rd) time.
People were noting even then that "The balls are juiced" due to the high number of home runs being hit. Heh, close, but it was the players, not just Barry alone, but many others doing it to. The record he established is total BS as it was attained by using drugs to enhance his abilities. It needs to be expunged to correct baseball's reputation, not that there's a lot left of it to correct.

Baseball is going to have to go through a renaissance to get me interested in the game again, right now I could care less about the business its turned into.

This year I know for a fact I didn't watch any games, including all the playoffs and series. It just isn't entertainment to me anymore

I knew someone would mention the strike. I'd thought of including it somewhere. I know *a lot* of people who feel the same way.

I thoroughly enjoyed the World Series a few years back with the Marlins. When Giambi came to bat in Miami, the crowd would chant "Ster-oids, ster-oids." He was juicing and everyone knew it. He got busted too.

I love that old cigar-smokin', whiskey-drinkin' guy who hit all those runs back in the day. Pure talent.

All pro sports are corrupt as far as I am concerned..the NCAA has had it's share of mud on it's face, also.

I cannot believe the year that the Patriot's are having..too bad they CHEATED like CHEATERS to get
to the CHEATING top..If I had known that cheating was rewarded in the pros..maybe I chose the worng path in life..cheating ain't hard.
