Im gonna start lookin around, but I wonder if anyone here knows... What kind/model Vox and fuzz did Duane use before the Marshall Bass amps??? Im gonna be lookin for a fuzz pedal so I'd like to match it up if I can. Gonna wear down some 9volts to use in it, too, like he did. Gets some perfect buzz out of them instead of full on batteries he said.

Neat (but I thought Duane rewound his Gold Tops pickups and he loved em so much thats why he put them in the Cherry Burst body when he bought/traded for it???)

Ben, Duane used the orbiter fuzz face with almost dead batteries to get his tone, before he switched to Les Pauls. It was used to beef up the thinner tone his Fender Stratocaster he was playing at the time. Strats just dont have the low end grunt of a Paul. You shouldnt need the fuzz face for the Paul. He used 2 50 watt Fender bass amps with no effects with the Les Paul.

The old almost dead batteries trick...I remember it well. I had an old effects box (can't recall the name) that was just awful with fresh batts..but let em get a little weary, and voila !
